Kim Delaney was an American actress from America. The actress is best known for her character, the detective Diane Russell, in the ABC show NYPD Blue. For this she received the Emmy Award. Also, she is known for her performances in the drama series All My Children Philly CSI: Miami and Army Wives. Delaney was the child of an executive at the United Auto Workers who was also the mother of her children. Delaney has four older brothers. In her early years she was aspired to become a court reporter. After graduating from high school, and moving into New York in the 1980s, she began modeling. In 1981, she starred as an innocent teenager in the film All My Children. Since then Delaney has been in a variety of TV dramas and films. As with her professional career, her personal life hasn't been happy or successful. The accomplished actor has been battling alcoholism as well as two failed marriages. In 2005 her custody was confiscated from her.
